John
Suchet remains one of the country’s best known television
newscasters, and now presents Five News having spent most of his career
at ITN. Before becoming a newscaster John was a reporter for ITN, covering
major events around the world. He has been honoured for both roles: Television
Journalist of the Year 1986, and Television Newscaster of the Year 1996.
Kate
Gerbeau, 38, is the presenter of the 11.30am bulletin. She joined
Five News in January 2005 after working as news presenter on BBC

Gerbeau (formerly Sanderson) worked for the BBC from 1997 when she first
joined to front the UK's longest running children's news programme Newsround.
Kate's work on the plight of children in Russian orphanages, where she
filmed under cover, earned her a BAFTA in 2000.
She also spent three series as a presenter and reporter on consumer
show Watchdog. Kate has recently presented two live programmes for Five,
Tomb Opening Live and Stonehenge Live.
She is married to businessman PY Gerbeau.
