The 2008 event took place on Friday January 25th and once again the event was held and hosted by  at their ultra trendy headquarters in the City of London.

This year the quiz master was be joined by a quiz mistress, with Andy Marr and Kirsty Young dishing out the questions and keeping the teams in order.

Another great night was had by one and all at the Ultimate News Quiz and the 2008 winner came from the brainy end of the braodcast specturm with Radio 4 coming out top of the class followed by last year’s winner, ITV News, in second and first timers Endemol in 3rd place.

It looks like we've increased the ammiunt of money raised for our chairities NCH and SPW by a staggering 50% to more than £60,000, helped by some very generous auction bidding.

Highlight of the night was Kirsty Young paying an extraodrinary £1,400 for a pair of M&S jocky pants signed by Jeremy Paxman!

Most of our teams have already said they want to come back again next year, so to avoid disappointment book your tables early!
